Benefit Concert
Thank you for your support of MusicA2G Studio, Sonya, and the Silicon Valley Chapter of the American Harp Society (SVCAHS) for our fundraising concert on June 20, 2014 which benefited children and schools that lost musical instruments as a result of the March 11, 2011 “311” Earthquake in Japan.

Donations supported the School Music Revival project. The Japan Musical Instruments Association initiated the School Music Revival project in 2011 to assist with the inspection, repair, and maintenance of musical instruments belonging to schools, preschool through high school, primarily in the Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures affected by the March 11 2011 eartquake and tsunami.
Café de la Harp is a creative and active harp trio from Tokyo, Japan. The group was formed by Hiroko Ishikawa, with the support of the Nippon Harp Association. Ms. Ishikawa received her Bachelor and Master of Music Degree from the University of Arizona where she studied with Dr. Carrol McLaughlin. Other members of Café de la Harp include Hiroko Yasui who graduated from Toho Gakuen School of Music in Japan, and Yuki Irinouchi who graduated from Ueno Gakuen School of Music in Japan. All three harpists also studied with Prof. Josef Molnar. The repertoire of the ensemble includes classical, new age, popular, and folk music. Much of the music Café de la Harp performs is arranged by members of the group. The mission of this group is to expand awareness of the harp and harp music.
